Bellingen Food & Wine Escape

We’re excited to announce the launch of Bellingen Food & Wine Escape; a unique blend of culinary experiences, nature, and relaxation in the picturesque setting of Bellingen. With the inaugural event taking place from July 12 – 14, the ‘winter escape’ weekend promises to be the first of many under the Bellingen Food & Wine Escape event banner in collaboration with our friends at The Lodge Bellingen.

Set on 16 acres of manicured gardens, The Lodge Bellingen is a boutique countryside retreat enjoying uninterrupted valley views over the Bellinger River towards the Dorrigo National Park. At the heart of the property is Three Blue Ducks’ restaurant; which showcases the same passion for simple, ethically sourced real food that the Ducks are famous for. The Ducks have recently changed up the menu, with Byron Head Chef Morto collaborating with Bello’s lead local chef Danni to create a menu that is a balance of the original Asian-inspired dishes and several Ducks classic dishes from their other restaurants.

“With the menu undergoing a bit of a refresh recently to take it back to our roots, we’re excited to get people back in to not only showcase that, but also the incredible local wine and produce available across NSW. We’re spoiled for choice in Bello when it comes to both, so Bellingen Food & Wine Escape is the perfect opportunity to kick things up a notch and highlight that. We’re lucky enough to work with some incredible local wineries and suppliers including Plateau Farm; The Bellingen Smokehouse; New Life Farm; Bello Beef and Klang Farm Organics; so these events are really an opportunity to celebrate that and chat with people about why we love the region so much”, says chef and co-owner of Three Blue Ducks, Darren Robertson.

Option 1: The full weekend package

Taking full advantage of the breathtaking scenery and renowned culinary offering, Three Blue Ducks and The Lodge Bellingen have teamed up to launch Bellingen Food & Wine Escape; with its inaugural event taking place from July 12 – 14. This two-night winter escape package for $1,400 per couple includes:

  • Accommodation at luxurious boutique hotel, The Lodge Bellingen
  • Daily breakfast for two at Three Blue Ducks, offering a fresh and delicious start to the day
  • Wine Masterclass on Friday night from 5.30pm, where guests can expand their wine knowledge and enjoy premium selections by M&J Becker; paired with a delicious Ducks grazing table
  • Long lunch for two on Saturday at 12.30pm, hosted by renowned Three Blue Ducks chefs Andy Allen and Darren Robertson; including snacks, welcome drink and three-course shared feast with beverage pairings at an additional cost. Menu highlights will include: smoked trout donuts; bone marrow flat bread; mushroom custard with ginger and garlic scapes; fermented chilli glazed chicken and whole roasted pig.

Option 2: Long Lunch with Andy Allen & Darren Robertson (Lunch only tickets)

  • Long lunch on Saturday at 12.30pm, $140 per person, hosted by renowned Three Blue Ducks chefs Andy Allen and Darren Robertson; including snacks, welcome drink and three-course shared feast with beverage pairings at an additional cost. Menu highlights will include: smoked trout donuts; bone marrow flat bread; mushroom custard with ginger and garlic scapes; fermented chilli glazed chicken and whole roasted pig.
