SWEET WINES – THE VERY GOOD KIND.

On a hill just outside of the town of Beechworth, VIC sits Pennyweight Winery – a small traditional winery, owned and operated by the 4th and 5th generation winemakers, the Morris family.

The name Morris has been synonymous with the wine industry for over 150 years. Elizabeth Morris is the matriarch of this family of biodynamic grape growers. And if you know anything about Australian fortified wine-making history, the Morris family are a true fortified making pedigree. The wines and fortified products made here are legendary!

The Pennyweight operation comprises two certified organic / biodynamic, dry land vineyards, situated in the Beechworth and Rutherglen wine regions, producing a range of solely estate grown benchmark fortified beverages, outstanding sherries and superb table wines.

Across our venues we sell a range of wines from the Morris family. From their ‘Gold’, a sweet fortified wine made from a white grape, which displays honeyed fruit, and toasty and addictively delightful flavours or their Rutherglen Muscat (pictured here), which is richer and decadent, heaped with baking spices and dried apricots. Deeeelish!
